Awarded another RoSPA Gold

Spectrum Property Care (SPC) has had its commitment to occupational health and safety recognised in an awards scheme run by safety charity the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

SPC is the property maintenance subsidiary of one of the country's largest social landlords, Sovereign Housing Association, which owns and manages more than 56,000 homes, and serves both the public and private sectors across the south west.

The organisation, which has its headquarters in Blandford Forum, Dorset, was awarded its sixth consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal for its safety performance in 2017. The award recognises the ‘safety first’ culture and high achievement when considering the health and well-being of customers, employees and members of the public.

SPC’s ten-year track record of RoSPA Awards is impressive. Golds were awarded for work completed in 2008-2010, a silver medal in 2011 and then golds from 2012 onwards.

Stuart Brookes, Operations Director of SPC, said: “Achieving our ninth Gold - and sixth in a row - is great news for SPC and reflects our safety first culture and the importance of our Health and Safety Team.

“The award gives excellent assurance of our continuous improvement in safety management. There’s a strong quality thread that links this award to our Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) accreditations and the 14 Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) national site awards we’ve won since 2008.

“We’re determined to maintain these high standards and offer our customers and employees the highest levels of safety. I’d like to thank the Health and Safety Team for all their hard work.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Qualifications, Awards and Events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year. These awards allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees, but all those who interact with it.”

SPC will collect their award at the prestigious 2018 RoSPA Health and Safety Awards at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Wednesday 4 July.

Just a quick note to say thank you for your and your Teams efforts to date. In the insurance world the South West has always been an area difficult to cover due to the widespread geography and distances between the major towns and cities. Since joining our network we have fewer rejections and complaints than ever before and this is predominantly as a result of the works being undertaken by Spectrum. To date you have been an invaluable addition to our Network and we look forward to continuing to work together in Partnership and growing our respective books of business. Mitie365
What can I say, there are huge smiley faces at school. You and the team you put in place are truly amazing. What you have all done is so important by saving us this outlay to fix the roof. Our faith in the community has been totally restored by your kindness Montacute School
